Mark your calendars: We have plenty o’ fun in the sun planned for Sideburn Run Pool in June.
Friday, June 17, 5:30 – 7:30ish Kickoff (your shoes) Happy Hour– Stop by after work on Friday for our first free happy hour, at the pavilion for all members over 21 years of age. Beer and wine will be served by glamorous volunteer board members. Yes, you can have a beer while sitting on a chaise watching your children behave themselves, like they always do, those little darlings.
Tuesday, June 21, 1:00 Boola Boola No More Schoola Party–No more teachers, no more books, lots of free ice pops for any kid who comes to the pool today. We’ll get some kid-friendly tunes cooking and maybe some bubbles too.
Thursday, June 23, 7:00 Raft Nights Begin–Bring your favorite flotation device for an evening of fun. We will have Raft Night EVERY Thursday through the end of August.
When it comes to Raft Night, we have Three Big Rules for Happiness and Harmony:
- One-person-size rafts only (those eight-person floating sombreros make it impossible for the guards to see the bottom of the pool).
- Do not jump from side of pool onto the float (because you’re gonna crack your head open, silly… and while we’re mentioning it, no jumping from the float to the side of the pool either).
- No attempting to drown your fellow floater by tipping over his/her raft (no exceptions, even for arguably justified retaliation against super-annoying siblings/spouses). OK? OK.
Cheers! See you at the pool!
P.S. Oh, and one more thing: The Fourth of July. This is an open call to all you people who like to plan parties. We are gathering a few good men and women to help organize and run our outrageously popular July 4 bash. Got ideas? Got decorating skills? Got time to run for ice that morning? Please, contact Danielle Furlich, Mistress of Activities, at activities@sideburnrun.com. We need YOU to make this party a success.
